BROECK FARM WELCOMES NANCY LATER Ten
Broeck Farm in Pepperell, Mass., is this year's summer home for dressage rider
and trainer Nancy Later, who is based in Wellington, Fla. She has already
packed up horses and all and made her way to the Northeast for the summer. Nancy
has technically been riding since the age of six months when her parents placed
her in a basket saddle on the back of Chief Snooks, and entered her in a lead
line class at the Devon Horse Show. Through her youth, she engaged in all sorts
of equestrian disciplines, but early settled on dressage and after high school
became a working student with first Lendon Gray, then Belinda Nairn
and then two-time Olympian Jessica Ransehousen. Nancy
has traveled and trained extensively in Europe, including with Dutch Team member
Ellen Bontje. Nancy
has been quite successful over the years as a competitive rider. In November 2005,
she and Rubinski won the Intermediaire I at the National Horse Show. At the Gold
Coast Opener CDI this past March, Nancy and Alexis-D, her Oldenburg mare, won
all of her Intermediaire II classes and the Grand Prix at the Gold Coast Finale.
She also rode Weiss Family Chiropractic's gelding, "S" Infinity, to
win in an FEI 5-year old class. They also won the Young Horse classes at both
Palm Beach Dressage Derby and the ZADA Enterprises LLC WEF Dressage Classic. Nancy's
own coach, Michelle Gibson, is also scheduled to make a trip to Ten Broeck
this summer to do a clinic. For
more information on Nancy and her schedule at Ten Broeck this summer, check out
the farm's website at www.tenbroeckfarm.net.
